Champions of Fire

Casual game fans, you may be soon able to compete for some serious cash in your favorite puzzler or tower defense game.

Amazon has recently announced an esports tournament called the “Champions of Fire Invitational”, where instead of the the typical suite of tournament-ready games like Clash RoyaleLeague of Legends, or Starcraft, invited players take to their mobile screens to battle games like Disney Crossy Road and 8-Ball Pool instead.

What’s Amazon’s aim here? The esports market is fairly saturated for traditional competitive content so Amazon may be trying to create demand for streaming content of casual games through cash tournaments. Better start practicing your Bloons Tower Defense… it just might pay off!

Until next time,
Peter

Titan Brawl

Omnidrone

Why Play?  Titan Brawl is an incredibly solid mobile MOBA game. So many have tried to capture the essence of the genre in the mobile space and this one does a very good job of boiling the overall experience down and keeping it engaging and complex enough to feel “right” without it being overwhelmingly complex for a mobile screen. A nice change of pace from crunchier true MOBA offerings on PC and such.
