Meet With Us at GDC

We’re back from Casual Connect Europe… and planning for Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, March 14-18.

As for Casual Connect, it was a productive conference and one I’d recommend for developers of all sizes, publishers looking for new games and anyone who wants to uncover new business in the old world. Contact me if you want more details – happy to share our experiences.

AND…there’s only one week left to take advantage of our Teardown Club promo like some of your industry peers have already. Enter code ACAFRIEND25 to get 25% off the first three months of your subscription, expiring March 1st.

Hope your week’s going well,
Adrian

Nasty Goats

Why Play? This game, published by Nickelodeon, is part simple arcade game, and part marketing tool for the show “Game Shakers.”  The game will serve as almost a “prop” for the show, as Angry Goats will be showcased in an episode on the 20th.  It will be important for brands to pay attention to how TV viewership and app downloads are related.

Weed Firm: RePlanted

Why Play? Weed Firm is a cross between a clicker and a farm game. The art style is incredibly unique, along with the subject matter. It had been dominating the top downloaded charts, and monetizes via ads and IAP. It’s worth playing to understand how a casual clicker can combine with a city builder, and explore a topic that is taboo.

Color Switch

Why Play? Color Switch is a “one-touch” style game, where a player attempts to pass a colorful ball through the correct gate by pressing down on the screen. It’s deceptively simple – as it can be maddeningly tough, which is a style shown to be able to gather many millions of installs within a short amount of time. The combination of the game’s creator being a popular figure on social media, plus an experienced developer for one touch games, makes the recipe for a viral hit.

Snowboarding the Fourth  Phase

Why Play? This is a visually appealing and addictive little snowboarding simulator game published by Red Bull. It teases for Travis Rice’s 4K video series The Fourth Phase, an action sports movie debuting in the fall. The controls are easy to learn, and the runs short – making the game perfect for waiting in line for coffee while also shedding some powder.
